Large Playmat – Ideal for Physical Development

We’ve launched a new Large Playmat, a multi-sensory play environment to aid cognitive development, providing the perfect place for a young baby to lie down.

Suitable from birth, the soft and padded Playmat features six colourful farmyard friends. Fun and engaging features include a squeaky beak, crinkly wing, shiny nose, woolly head and cord tail so babies will have textures and sounds to explore as they grow and develop.

At Galt Toys we always aim to encourage learning through play and this colourful Playmat, with its engaging farm characters, is ideal for stimulating touch, vision and hearing, assisting with baby’s growth and development. The Playmat is light, easily transportable and washable making it trouble-free to move around the house or take on holiday.

If your baby needs a little more support while sitting up, our award winning Playnest® is just the thing! It is a self-contained play environment for babies and toddlers. The triangular fabric covered inflatable ring provides additional sideways support for baby during rest and play. Around the Playnest, there are 8 multi-sensory features to stimulate touch, vision and hearing, providing the early experience and interaction a baby needs.

Broom, broom for babies nine months or plus our big red Playnest® Car is perfect. It takes all the key aspects of the original Playnest®, and adds some fun new features for an even more imaginative place to play.

The detachable electronic dashboard will provide a fun driving experience complete with engine start-up sounds, honking horn and radio. At around 9 months, a baby is learning by exploring every area of his or her environment, so stimulation and imaginative play are very important for their development.

Cake Car Driving into Toy Fair 2012!

Cake Car Driving into Toy Fair 2012!

We all love a bit of cake, whether it is chocolate, vanilla or coffee and walnut; when it is about everyone wants a slice. So naturally when we had a chance to have a gigantic cake within our reach, none of the Galt Team said no!

To celebrate the launch of our Playnest® Car, we commissioned a life-size replica of the fantastic new car for Toy Fair 2012, complete with dashboard and mirrors. The edible car made from vanilla sponge measured 3ft wide x 2ft 6” length and 10” high, and was created by award winning sugar artist Michelle Wibowo of Michelle Sugar Art.

As you can see, the Galt Team couldn’t resist temptation and devoured the boot!!

National Childcare Week

Next week is National Childcare Week promoting the importance of childcare, especially in the early years of development, strengthening and contributing to children’s play and learning, building a good foundation for their future.

At Galt Toys we understand the importance of development in the early years – making sure children have a good foundation will undoubtedly set them up for school and the future!  Research over the years has clearly shown that good-quality early education benefits the child in the long term, underlining why childcare is so important.

Perhaps this explains why Gwyneth Paltrow felt the need to spend £60,000 on a nanny, and Supernanny Jo Frost’s TV show Extreme Parental Guidance on Channel 4, is a huge success. According to Jo, as quoted in the Telegraph, “The average child spends less than 49 minutes a day doing things together with their parents.”

Communication and interaction are key to a child’s development. We are always designing toys to meet the needs of all stages of child development from 0-10 years, which are fun and to encourage learning through play.

Our award winning innovative Playnest is a self-contained play environment for babies and toddlers. The triangular fabric covered inflatable ring provides additional sideways support for baby during rest and play.

Around the Playnest, there are 8 multi-sensory features to stimulate touch, vision and hearing, providing the early experience and interaction a baby needs.
