Merry Christmas

Well it has been an exciting year for us; we’ve launched our new website www.galttoys.com, our Wooly Windsors’, were joined by real life Wills and Kate look-a-likes to launch our new Knit a Friend kit at Toy Fair; We went on the search for the Face of Galt looking for four children to make up our very own Galt Team - the next Professor Galt, Leonardo DiGaltici, Princess Galt and Baby Galt (winners will be announced in Jan 2012) and we have exciting products coming out in 2012 – so watch this space!

If you and your kiddies want to get creative over the Christmas break, while waiting for that jolly fellow in red to come down the chimney, we have some fantastic Christmas crafty make and dos for you!

Salt Dough DecorationsGet ready for Christmas by making these sparkly decorations! This is a wonderful craft activity for all the family to get into the Christmas spirit. Put on the Christmas music and an apron and get making your own unique decorations! Mix salt, flour and water together to make the dough, cut out your decorations using the templates provided and leave to dry. Finish by painting and decorating them with glitter and sequins. Knit a Reindeer – Put a smile on everyone’s face at Christmas with our fun knitted reindeer. He will be a perfect addition to your Christmas decorations or a delightful festive gift. Simply download the step by step guide from the Activity Zone and knit the simple shapes, fill with stuffing and sew together. Add felt antlers and a red nose to complete your little Rudolph. To make your reindeer, you need to be able to cast on, cast off, increase, decrease, work garter and stocking stitch.

23 Days To Christmas – Top Five Stocking Fillers!

The first mention of a Christmas stocking being hung by a chimney is in the story written by Clement Moore in The Night Before Christmas.

Traditionally the stocking would have been filled with small items like fruit, nuts and candy, but most of these items have been replaced with modern gifts, such as, the latest toys! Did you know – the largest Christmas stocking measures 51m 35cm in length and 21m 63cm in width (heel to toe) and was produced by the volunteer emergency services organisation in Carrara, Italy, on 5 January 2011 – imagine having to fill that with gifts!
